Hi! I am Ms. Vedder, and I am thrilled to be teaching second grade. I taught sixth grade for 18 years, and this is my second year in second. What an amazing year we are going to have learning together!
In The
News:
Second grade nonfiction writers noticed, named and tried craft moves in their
own nonfiction books. After they tried the new craft moves, our nonfiction writers
displayed their work at their tables. They walked around, reading each others’
writing and used sticky notes to compliment each other. Our nonfiction writers
also learned some new craft moves from their peers.

Second Grade Scientists have been exploring a unit called - The Nature of Matter.
As a final project, the students created boats from a variety of materials used
during the unit. The goal was to make a boat that would float and carry cargo.
The students did a great job investigating, learning, and sharing ideas.
